Hebi, Henan: Ecological Qihe River reproduces the beauty of The Book of Songs.

People’s Daily Online, Zhengzhou, March 23 (Yu Siyuan) "Qi Shui Tang Tang, gradually wearing a car." Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment released outstanding cases of beautiful rivers and lakes and beautiful bays in 2021, and the Hebi section of Qihe River was nominated by the first batch of beautiful rivers and lakes.

It is reported that there were three outstanding ecological and environmental problems in Qihe River: First, seasonal cut-off. In the case of non-centralized water regulation and replenishment, the Bailongmiao-Xugou hot spring section of Qihe River has been cut off for a long time, about 14 kilometers long; The downstream reach of the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway Dam is seasonally cut off, about 28 kilometers long. The second is the ecological degradation of the basin. The river buffer zone is almost lost, the national second-class protected plant wild soybean and the national second-class endangered key protected wild plant Taihang chrysanthemum are almost extinct, and the crucian carp and spotted fish in Qihe River are greatly reduced. Third, Qihe River passes through the city, and the water quality is threatened by industrial and agricultural pollution sources scattered on both sides of the river and black and odorous water bodies in the city. The task of controlling sources, intercepting pollution, ensuring quality and expanding capacity is arduous.

In order to protect Qihe River, Hebi City, Henan Province promulgated and implemented the Regulations on Qihe River Protection in Hebi City, which brought Qihe River protection into the legal track. Full implementation of the closed fishing period system, prohibiting all types of fishing operations (including fishing); Set up Qihe River Protection Office, implement the system of river guards, and implement normalized supervision.

After treatment, Hebi City completely solved the problem of seasonal cut-off of Qihe River, and basically realized the long-term flow of rivers and water. At present, the average annual flow of Qihe River reaches 16.96 cubic meters per second, and the average annual natural runoff is 535 million cubic meters. Not only that, Qihe River has fully restored the basin ecology.

According to reports, there are 64 species of fish in Qihe River, including 34 species of phytoplankton, 10 species of zooplankton and 14 species of macrobenthos, among which the giant panda in the water — — Peach blossom jellyfish frequently appear; National protected animals such as egrets, mandarin ducks, black storks and white swans can be seen along the river. Based on the comprehensive evaluation of water quality and aquatic biodiversity, the ecological environment quality of Huanghuaying water in Qihe River is rated as 5.0, which is the best monitoring point of water ecological status in Haihe River Basin.

It is reported that today’s Qihe River water quality maintains more than Class II standards all the year round, ranking first among 60 rivers announced by Henan Province over the years, and becoming the only unpolluted river in the Haihe River Basin, which is rare in North China.
